Adverbs of Quantity or Frequency

Adverbs Of Quantity or Adverb Of Frequency: They indicate how often an action takes place and answer the question how often. Some examples are sometimes, always, once, seldom, usually, rarely, daily, every time.

Negative adverbs should not be used with the words negative in meaning. So, two negative should be avoided

Seldom, nowhere, never, nothing, hardly, scarcely, neither, barely , rarely, are some of the adverbs expressing negative meaning.

For example: He is often late for the office

Here late is the verb and often is the adverb of frequency

  • She dances very quickly.
  • He usually sleeps soundly at night.
  • Never will I see her again
  • I will never see her again.
  • She rarely dances in a party.
  • I remember never to have said so.
  • I never allow my son to go out in dark.
  • We seldom or never ( seldom, if ever) meet our relatives these days.
  • They do not seldom come here.
